Currently, 100% of trade is with the UK. Exports are mainly labour as around 60% of the population work in the UK while Scorvidia imports everything from British food to British cars as Scorvidian land is too small to grow crops or manufacture much at all.
However, there have been calls in government for more self-sufficiency in the food industry through planting crops for the first time in Western Kollme. HGM also seeks to form closer ties with Spain, Germany, France and Estonia in the hope of a trade deal. See below for a breakdown of imports and exports from 2017.
Our Emperor has set aside 0.04% of the nations GDP to contribute to the Scorvidian Red Cross organisation to assist in the development of less economically developed countries.
One of the key roles of the Department for International Development and Trade is through the SES, which encourages the learning of Esperanto worldwide. Devised in 1887, Esperanto is a constructed language that was designed to be extremely easy to learn. We believe this language can eventually be taught worldwide as a universal second language, encouraging better opportunities for trade, communication, understanding and peace. Scorvidia has adopted Esperanto as one of its offical languages and we hope other nations will follow suit.
With the help of the Secretary of State, this department promotes Scorvidian exports internationally and helps to grow our economy. We also assist in the development of less developed countries by donating 0.04% of our GDP.
